To join Toastmasters, you will pay a single membership fee of $40.00 become a life-time member of Toastmasters International. This membership will also enable you to purchase Toastmasters educational materials for discounted rates.

In addition to your membership fee, it will cost $70.00 per six months to join Western Lectern, which will pay the club's semi-annual fee to Toastmasters International, club facilities, equipment and materials.

Once you become a member, you will receive the Competent Communicator manual and Competent Leader manual, each of which have a series of assignments for you to work through at your own pace. You will also be assigned a mentor who is a more experienced club member, to help guide you through your first few assignments and speeches.
